Faerie Park
Merrimac
Faerie Park is a wonderfully whimsical play and picnic space, tucked away in a pocket of Gold Coast suburbia.
Located just a few minutes off the M1 at Merrimac, Faerie Park is not the sort of place you’d expect to find in a quiet residential street. But upon arrival it won’t take long for this leafy, green park to start working its magic on you.

The large trees not only provide plentiful shade throughout the park, but their giant gnarled trunks look every bit like something out of a fairytale. If there really are fairies out there, then this would be the exact place they’d choose to live.

Continuing the magical theme, a number of brightly-coloured mushroom houses can be found dotted about the park. Children who bend down for closer inspection will be rewarded with a view of the intricate paintings and carvings on the mushroom stems.

There’s plenty more opportunity for imaginative play, thanks to the wishing well and the Goblin Cave. Kids can also re-enact the classic tale of the Three Billy Goats Gruff by trip trapping back and forth across the Troll Bridge.

Faerie Park also boasts plenty of traditional play equipment, including swings, climbing web, seesaw bouncer, and play fort with slide. A concrete path – adorned with colourful creature paintings – adds to the fun by looping around the park.

Although a truly magical experience for kids, the park is also a peaceful haven for adults, who will enjoy soaking up the hinterland views while relaxing on a picnic rug or on one of the provided picnic tables or bench seats.

Need to know – There are no toilet facilities at Faerie Park, however public toilets can be found less than 10 minutes away (along with some great shops) at the Robina Town Centre.
