Zephyr Coffee Co
Kirra
ZEPHYR COFFEE CO. HAS CLOSED IN 2023.
Zephyr Coffee Co. is a Kirra favourite tucked around the corner where Musgrave Street becomes Marine Parade on Churchill St.
You’ll see the big blue “Coffee” mural with a big black arrow pointing you in the right direction to get your morning fix.
Kicking off at 6am Zephyr is ready to give early risers their caffeine zing for the morning. With a laid-back raised deck offering umbrella shading and views to the waves, Zephyr is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy your breakfast favourites. Your pooch would also enjoy kicking back on the deck.
Zephyr has a plantation feel thanks to the banana palm wallpaper adorning the walls inside. A scattering of colourful bar stools, a cushioned banana lounge, turquoise table settings and a coffee bar offer ample seating inside and out.
What makes Zephyr stand out from the rest for coffee lovers is the fact that its resident coffee guru air roasts the beans onsite daily (care-of the fancy Chinook Piccolo roaster) and offers tasting notes for each blend he creates. Their milk-based coffee blend is Sirocco which offers candy like fruit and berry flavours with a milk chocolate finish. Jet Stream is their espresso coffee blend serving up notes of sweet honey berries with light and smooth coco notes. They offer Summer Breeze filter coffee and don’t forget to ask about their ever-changing single origin coffee.
Zephyr also serves Turmeric and Chai Lattes, extra shots and all the milk alternatives you might ask for. The drinks menu also offers cold pressed juices, iced beverages, Kombucha, Coconut water and six unique dairy-free smoothies, including charcoal (with dates, banana, blueberries, raspberries, lemon and coconut water), banana chia (with dates, cinnamon, coffee and coconut water), green (with banana, mango, spinach, cucumber, kale, parsley, mint, lemon and coconut water), tropical (featuring banana, mango, pineapple and passionfruit), as well as açai and choco peanut butter options.
The food offerings are simple and tasty, with all the breakfast favourites, including bacon and egg rolls (with Swiss cheese and bbq sauce), avocado sourdough (with dukkha seeds, feta and lemon), hot cakes (with maple pecan butter, toasted almonds, fruit and maple syrup), breaky bowls (in literally every colour of the rainbow), and everything from muffins to banana bread to croissants. Brunch and lunch fare includes the toasted Reuben, roasted pumpkin, spaghetti bolognese and jaffles made on site.
This place has everything you need to give you a morning zing!
