St Helens Bar & Burgers
Kirra
St Helens Bar & Burgers is located at number 78 Musgrave Street at the southern end of Kirra’s busy beachfront food strip and introduces an innovate take on American cuisine to the Gold Coast’s dining scene. Having met in super cool Seattle in the Pacific Northwest of the US, the couple behind St Helens named their culinary creation after the cracker mountain volcano located where their own fireworks erupted.

Boasting spacious curb-side seating within a turfed beer garden outdoors, cushioned bench seating indoors under artist Mike Ambrose’ beautiful blue curling wave wall mural, and bar seating at the neon-lit emerald cocktail bar, this is the perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening taking in the beautiful view of Roughton Park and the beach beyond.

Living up to its famous name, this unique venue serves equally famous crave-worthy one-of-a-kind burgers, ribs, wings, sliders, snacks and sides – an eclectic mix of American favourites, each with a refreshing twist. There are at least ten unique burgers to choose from, including favourites like the slow-cooked pulled pork burger (complete with bourbon bbq coleslaw) and the bay bug burger which serves 100g of seared Moreton Bay bug with iceburg lettuce and lemon mayo.

Diners with an appetite will revel at the prospect of the full rack of bourbon bbq ribs, whilst smaller appetites are spoilt for choice with a long list of snacks (including the famous Kirra Fried Cauliflower) and three types of wings on offer. If you can’t decide which mouth-watering option to order, why not try a sampler of sliders or wings. The thoughtful menu offers vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options as well as a classic kids’ menu featuring mini cheeseburgers, fish n chips and the iconic mac and cheese. Those in search of a sweet treat will appreciate grandma’s chocolate pie with ginger crumb and cream.

If you’re looking for a tasty beachside beverage, choose from a dozen signature and classic cocktails, like the St Helens Spritz, the Kirra Point Breaker, the Captain Goodvibes and the Roughton’s Colada. The cosy bar offers on-tap beers, craft beer, ciders, bubbles, a lovely wine list and a long list of spirits
Open Wednesday through Sunday, St Helens comes alive at noon on weekends and offers Happy Hour specials on margaritas, craft beer, quality wine, wings, and their sampler plate from 3pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
