The Lume is a stunning cherry-blossom festooned Yum Cha and Asian fusion restaurant in one of Coolangatta's main dining and shopping precincts.
Take a seat in the enchanting hot pink cave-like dining space and feast from a menu that takes you on a culinary trip across Asia, from China to Japan, Thailand and Korea.
The expansive menu features a dedicated Yum Cha/Dim Sum section, with an impressive array of dumpings, buns (pan-fried and steamed), and steamed rolls, while for entree these's dumplings, won-ton and soups.
Seafood (including live lobster, king, mud or snow crab), is a house specialty while fish dishes include grilled, golden crispy or sweet and sour whole barramundi or fish fillet in red broth. Roasted duck is another signature, including roasted duck roll, plum duck or 3-course whole duck (with pancakes, San Boy Chao and soup)
The rest of the extensive menu includes a selection of teppan (sizzling hot plate), Sichuan Yuxiang style or sweet and sour dishes, mains such as Sichuan chilli beef or cumin lamb stir fry; lemon, honey, satay or kong pao chicken; Beijing-style shredded pork; Chow-mein, omelettes (prawn, chicken or vegetable); and cold dishes such as green pepper and century egg or Chinese cucumber salad.
Meanwhile desserts include deep-fried ice-cream, Hong Kong style egg waffle or parfait.
