Billy Chow

Billy Chow is a minimalist chic Pan Asian restaurant with a cool coastal vibe, located opposite Kirra's beachfront park.

A sibling for Nobby Beach's popular dining Institution Ally Chow, Billy Chow ticks all of the boxes when it come to food, decor and service.

The elegant dining space features a dusky tangerine banquette along two walls, blond timber modernist style dining tables and chairs and 'Ocean Bar' counter seating overlooking the street and park, with ocean glimpses.

The exquisite menu, designed to share, features an extensive list of snacks/small plates such as ocean trout crumpets, XO butter, puffed rice and ice plant; kingfish sashimi, taro, spiced coconut, kalkalla & shiso; and crispy spanner crab rice paper rolls, nouc cham & baby gem.

A selection of bao buns come with delicious fillings like tempura Moreton Bay bug, XO kewpie & cauliflower leaf kimchi; wagyu katsu, parmesan custard & house BBQ sauce; pork belly, apple slaw & ssamjung; or organic tofu, burnt chilli mayo & fresh herbs.

There's also heavenly bar gow dumplings with Hervey Bay scallops, prawns & house XO or truffle and mushroom dumplings with bamboo shoot, vinegar, soy & chilli; and Malaysian spice fried chicken, curry kewpie and date picke.

Larger (protein) dishes include miso toothfish cooked over charcoal with pickled Kohlribi & fermented chilli; pork belly and jungle curry with charred pineapple, vichoron & kaffir lime; or melt-in-the-mouth beef short rib, roast turmeric and banana chilli curry. 

There's also wok dishes such as Ally's special fried rice with charsui pork, egg & shallot, while for dessert there is a choice of mango pana cotta with lychee, coconut & mint or choc bun, banana mousse and choc fudge sauce. 

Drinks are a match for the food with house cocktails like Coconut Chilli Margarita, Cherry Blossom Sour and Umeshu Bubble Tea, Vietnamese Coffee Martini; a cracking curated wine list and craft beers. 

Good to know - Billy Chow has some excellent banquet offerings, starting from $55pp and including a vegetarian/vegan banquet and a 4-course gluten-free banquet. A takeaway menu is also available.

Need to know - You'll find Billy Chow nestled in the line-up of shops and restaurants under Kirra Beach Resort.There is limited on street parking nearby as well as angle parking across the road at the park.
