Roji Cat Beer Bar
Miami
Updated: May 15, 2026
Occupying a warehouse adjacent to Granddad Jack's Craft Distillery, Roji Cat (meaning 'alley cat') is the only Japanese brewery on the Gold Coast and stepping inside feels like you've arrived in Japan.
In true Japanese style, the black-walled interior is adorned with flashing neon signs, red and white paper lanterns, Hello Kitty figurines and retro posters, while the bar facade is crafted from red milk crates.
The onsite brewery is helmed by Japanese brewer Satoshi Tamura and offers eleven house beers on tap, including the house special - Japanese rice lager - with five on regular rotation.
Roji Cat is more than a beer bar and brewery though - there is also an in-house sake bar, boasting a carefully curated list of 24 sakes, ranging from standard hot sakes to top shelf premium, with sake tasting paddles also available. And that's not all - there's also a small menu of Japanese flavoured cocktails, such as yuzu chilli margarita.
Food-wise, a delicious menu of Japanese bar snacks are on offer, including raw bar morsels like sashimi and ceviche, gyoza, fried chicken marinated in house sauce and a selection of yakitori cooked over the Robata grill.
Good to know - Roji Cat also has a secret electronics dart room as well as a karaoke room.
Need to know - There is limited on-street parking available nearby. Best access to and from the Gold Coast Highway is via Christine Avenue and then Lemana lane is the first street on the right at the traffic lights.
