Fuel Bakehouse

In the heart of the foodie precinct of Currumbin, if you let your nose follow the sweet aromas, you will surely be led to the much-loved Fuel Bakehouse.

Starting early, owner Ben Edwards and the team bake everything onsite, multiple times a day, using local suppliers and locally-sourced ingredients. Whether your delight is slow-cooked meat pies, beautifully baked croissants, fun pastries or semi-sourdough donuts, you’ll find your fancy here. The catch cry here is “Because different is always beautiful, passion is addictive and freshly baked is the only way!"

The flagship Currumbin bakehouse is sister to Cabarita’s popular Fuel Bakehouse and to the outpost along James Street in Burleigh Heads, and it has won over the Gold Coast’s pastry-loving populace with Fuel favourites, including its famed doughnuts, savoury pies, cruffins, muffins, breakfasts, lunches, salads and sandwiches.

Freshly-baked pies of the seven hour slow-cooked variety come in flavours like Aussie Bush Pepper, Chorizo Cheese, Chunky Cheese and Chilli Cheese and Bacon. You can also indulge in the freshest of salads plus delicious takeaway dishes like burritos, bacon and egg rolls, cheeseburgers and steak sandwiches. 

Perhaps it’s a smashed avo deluxe kind of day and you want to make it your own by adding bacon, fried eggs, mushrooms, hash browns, halloumi, or any extra you’re partial to.

There are treats in abundance with the freshest of croissants (regular and chocolate), salted caramel cruffins, blueberry and pear danishes, the fluffiest of cinnamon scrolls, and semi-sourdough donuts in passionfruit curd, Nutella and salted caramel flavours. Fuel donuts are also renowned across the coast for always being soft and melt-in-your-mouth. 

Once you’ve sampled them, you will surely join the slew of loyal followers who come daily to sink their teeth into a soft, sweet donut while sipping their smooth delicious coffee blends care of the team at Social Espresso.
