The Milkman’s Daughter is located on Alfred Street just off the Gold Coast Highway and a block back from Mermaid Beach.
This divinely designed space, marked by retro motor scooters ever parked out front, has a real neighbourhood vibe. There’s something so relaxing about the beautiful outdoor setting of rattan chairs and cushioned white bench-style set against the textured white render setting that makes you want to sit and stay.
The delicious aroma of superior blends waft from the busy takeaway coffee window perched above the Guatemalan clean coffee hessian sacks. Peek down the side alley and it seems the whole neighbourhood is keen to hang out with the Milkman’s Daughter. Devine design extends indoors the wonderful white arched private plush booths or iconic “igloos” softened even more by the hanging vines and palm décor. If you want to sip your coffee solo or read as you watch the passers-by, the high rattan seats along the communal window bar are made for you.
The Milkman’s Daughter clearly knows a thing or two about beans of choice and is focused on serving the best coffee possible with the assurity that every drink you take is helping society in the process. The Purple Rain beans-of-choice are organically produced and sourced from farms and cooperatives that contribute to the education, health, and well-being of the farming communities from which they originate. Moreover, her coffee has won the Golden Medal for Organic Coffee at Golden Beans.
Beyond the beans, the Milkman's Daughter is all about eating and living consciously which is reflected in the thoughtful menu hand-selected by head-chef Ana, featuring Vegetarian dishes throughout. Ana aims to connect diners to the freshest ingredients delivering meals which nourish and support our diverse natural resources and consumption needs. The enticing menu is full of wholesome, honest food prioritising gluten-free and vegan options, such as Red Velvet Waffles, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, or the spectacular Shakshuka, the famous Fritter Stack and the fully loaded Coconut Porridge.
