Hot Shott
Main Beach
Hot Shott is a very popular café that celebrates rustic elegance and cooking that comes from the soul. Inhabiting the shady corner of Woodroffe Avenue, this cool spot bookends the first block of the Tedder Avenue foodie strip of Main Beach.

Head Chef Kellie Rolfe and General Manager Jenna Finch set out to create an authentic place for the people, an enchanting alfresco space, to relax and chat over fine food and delectable drinks. And they’ve achieved it! Choose a bistro seat alongside the timber fence under the canopy and festoon lights, or choose a rustic industrial timber setting under the blackboard ceiling art inside and admire the ambience of the sleek emerald tiled bar and banana palmed walls.

The bronze Italian La Marzocco espresso machine, looking stunning atop the subway tiled bar, sends delicious aromas of the premium coffee blends (Honeycomb and Vibe) sourced from the Gold Coast’s own Supreme Coffee Roasters.

Using produce sourced wherever possible from local farmers, Hot Shott serves traditional fare infused with a contemporary flair. The menu is not only a fresh take on classic favourites, but a culinary journey guided by a chef who’s proud to blaze her own trail. You could call Kellie the renegade of recipes and the truth-seeker of sweet! The dishes she plates are designed to suit a broad range of tastes, with light and hearty options for diverse appetites.
Breakfast favourites including smokin’ rainbow trout, Olla Caliente (Spanish style hot pot eggs), sweetcorn and chive fritters and the bagel board are served all day. Similarly, you can choose a lunch dish like the Slider Trio, the Hot Shott Cob Salad or the Flamin’ Chicken Caesar Burger at any hour. Ultimately this diner found it hard to go past The Benedict of Benedicts at any time of day! Oh… and make sure you try the signature truffle, parmesan, and rosemary fries!

There is a brilliant kids menu featuring smiley-face pancakes, a toastie with the mostie, eggs with dippy soldiers, porridge and nuggies! And you simply have to check out the cabinet for sweets and treats such as freshly baked scones, banana bread, muffins, brownies and melting moments. The drinks menu is the longest in Main Beach with house-made iced tea, Kombucha, smoothies, fresh-made juices and of course cocktails, spirits, wine and brews from Lost Palms Brewing Co down the road in Miami.

Lovers of fantastic food, fine coffee, and fun times should settle in and let the Hot Shott squad take you straight to foodie heaven.
