Limlay Thai is an exquisite Thai street food restaurant and bar nestled within Burleigh Heads' bustling shopping and dining strip on the Gold Coast Highway.
One step inside and you realize that Limlay is way more than your average Thai restaurant, with its stunning minimalist beach-hued interior, featuring textured pastel walls, golden lighting and, to the rear, a secret tropical garden behind a frosted glass wall.
At the rear there are also elegant booths, perfect for small groups or date nights, and the whole venue has a golden glow thanks to its bespoke table lamps and lighting.
The food is a match for the surrounds, served on bespoke crockery and taking street food to a whole new level, starting with small bites like shiiatke and taro spring rolls, lotus root with satay; Angus eye fillet skewers with broccolini, pickled ginger and wasbi lime dip; or homemade fish cakes.
Divine seafood small dishes include fresh oysters (natural, or with green lime or Asian sauce); Hokkaido scallops, salmon or prawn with chilli lime dressing; scallops with Tom Kha puree; or spanner crab and prawn yellow curry with fried onion and crispy sweet potato.
