Borough Barista
Burleigh Heads
Borough Barista on the Esplanade at Burleigh Beach is the smaller sister café to Barefoot Barista in Palm Beach, but brings the same artisanal coffee and outstanding modern café cuisine its older sibling is known for.
With its prime position steps from the sand and beachside park, Borough is essentially a no-frills coffee joint, serving its tasty delights in sustainable recyclable cups and containers, and offering limited curb-side timber-stool seating with a killer ocean view.
Obviously, a favourite with locals and visitors alike, busy Borough Barista is known for its outstanding Gabriel Coffee experience and a menu focussed on what’s in season and locally farmed. Choosing the light and crisp Monte Carlo blend from Gabriel’s Sydney-based roastery, using beans that aren't typically 'off the shelf', gives way to a unique coffee experience that Borough is proud to share with Burleigh’s community.
As well as cranking out coffee to the steady stream of caffeine enthusiasts, Borough is busy serving delights from its simple yet clever menu. Favourites include the Turmeric Avocado on sourdough, the Meredith goat’s cheese and avocado smash, Halloumi and egg street wrap, the classic bacon and egg roll, and of course the cherished cheese burger.
There are child-friendly menu variations of smashed avo and bacon, eggs and toast alongside all-ages favourites like the strawberry, banana and Nutella waffle. There are more than half-a-dozen other sweet-toothed selections, with both gluten-free and vegan variations, including the Persian Love cake and the Pistachio slice. Beyond its celebrated coffee, Borough offers an extensive beverage menu including iced drinks (like Chai on ice), cold-pressed juices (such as Green and Bondi), smoothies (featuring Açaí, Green & protein) and bottled drinks (including Kombucha, coconut and sparkling water).
If you’re in Burleigh, either with friends or solo, with the kids or the with the dog, you’ve simply got to visit the Borough!
