Lucia Tapas Garden is a charming authentic Spanish tapas garden bar and restaurant found tucked away in Tugun village.
Housed in one of Tugun's original buildings, Rosa offers seating inside in a large dim lit dining space streetside or out back in a rustic terracotta walled courtyard, adorned with umbrellas, pot plants and fairy lights.
With Spanish chefs in the kitchen and Spanish/Latin American music throughout, Lucia is like stumbling upon a little slice of Spain beachside at the Gold Coast.
From the menu, diners can start with a selection of house dips (fetta & artichoke, pink hummus or sundried tomato and olive tapanade) with a choice of Spanish style baguette, cheesy garlic bread or seasoned gluten free crisps.
A selection of cold tapas includes Tortilla de Papas (traditional potato & onion omelette with sourdough & aioli); Pumpkin Gorgonzola piquillos (Spanish piquillo peppers with pumpkin & gorgonzola, crisps & piquillo cream); Jamón Serrano + tumaca (Spanish Grand Reserve serrano jamon with tomato blend) and Boquerones (marinated white anchovies with fresh tomato & herb oil), both served with sourdough.
From the hot tapas section, choices include Papas Bravas (traditional fried potatoes with homemade hot tomato sauce & alioli); Jamon Serrano croquettes (Serrano ham creamy bechamel croquettes); Mussels (fresh mussels, tomato, onion, garlic + creamy white wine sauce) and Spanish Meatballs (Australian beef homemade meatballs cooked in tomato sauce), both served with sourdough.
Otherwise there's a choice of paella (min. 2 per serve) - Vegetarian (bomba rice, saffron, seasonal veggies, artichokes, peas, capsicum) or Paella De La Casa (bomba rice, saffron, king prawns, mussels, chicken, chorizo, peas, capsicum).
For sweets there's Spanish churros served with cinnamon sugar & dulce de leche; Basque cheesecake and mango or lemon sorbet. Family friendly, Rosa also has a kids menu offering a choice of croquettes, fish or chicken nuggets and chips.
Drinks-wise, Lucia offers a selection of cocktails including Banana Pina Colada, Chilli Coconut Margarita, Aperol Spritz, Lucia Espresso or Negroni, and Blanco or Rouge Sangria as well as a mix of Spanish and locla craft beers on tap and Spanish and Oz wines.
