Vinnies
Tugun
Under the iconic blue logo of St Vincent’s caring hands, the revamped and refurbished Vinnies Op Shop in Tugun is located on the hub of Golden Four Drive, in the centre of this beachside village and is full of feel-good finds.
Through community donations, this spacious store run by the St Vincent De Paul Society, aims to raise funds to provide ongoing support and prevention for people impacted by poverty and homelessness in the local community. Open seven days and manned by generous volunteers, Tugun Vinnies runs a community board and offers second-hand goods including clothing, bric-a-brac, furniture, manchester, toys, books and media to brighten your life.
This Tugun favourite is first to be renovated with the fresh new look and feel of sunny yellow on the famous blue and gives any high-end fashion store a run for its money. Shoppers love the beachy “endless shop” mural complete with the rainbow-ringed surfboard “in search for the perfect find”. The spacious fitting room walls remind you “that’s the one” and you “won’t believe you found it at Vinnies.” And the colourful counter mural capturing a group hug and the essence of feelgood shopping.
Thanks to the refurbishment, this Vinnies is the new leader in terms of the most neatly set-out op shop you’re likely to find, with neat, labelled racks of sorted clothing, neatly displayed household wares and bric-a-brac, well sorted books, carefully displayed shoes, and clean-as-new toys and manchester.
The models and racks are adorned with feature displays and special finds—where else will you find a signed collectors’ item Titans bowling ball, those as-new pink and gold vintage roller skates or a never-been-worn cutting edge designer wedding gown?
Browse the alphabetically categorised books or retro vinyl collection in air-conditioned comfort. Peruse the racks of designer fashion labels and find thoughtfully donated unicorns at bargain prices.
You’ll find brands including Spell, Seed, Country Road and more, it’s a great place to find an appropriately matched or themed outfit for any special event.
Fusing fancy and fine fashion, rummage-worthy treasures, near-new homeware and barely-used furniture, this op shop has something special for everyone, making it a contender for the best op shop on the Gold Coast.
And don’t forget to bring in your clean quality donations to give back while you shop.
