Tugun to Bilinga Oceanway
Southern Gold Coast Walk
If you’re wanting a walk or seeking some exercise with a sea view minus hills, stairs or slopes, then the newest Oceanway stretch between Tugun and Bilinga is the spot for you.

The $4 million-dollar two kilometre stretch of the Gold Coast’s famous Oceanway between Tugun Surf Life Saving Club and Bilinga Surf Life Saving Club was completed in 2018, making pounding the pavement with a view of the stunning sand, wicked waves and spectacular skyline backdrop a reality.

This flat stretch of the Oceanway forms part of the ‘Golden Four Beaches Walk’ (from Kirra Point, through Bilinga and Tugun beaches to Currumbin Rock) is a haven for walkers, cyclists, scooters, prams and wheelchairs.

This wonderful community asset offers seating, showers and bubblers and with solar lighting and backup batteries installed along the length of the pathway, pre-dawn and post-sunset walks, rides and rolls have become popular.

Ample parking is available if you choose to start your walk at either surf club, although many people choose to start just north of the Tugun Surf Lifesaving Club at Len Wort or Kropp Parks where parking is also available.

The Kropp Park path south takes you across a footbridge, passed the shaded picnic spots and amenities to Tugun’s famous Flat Rock, a popular picnic spot and surfing break for locals, where the path meets Pacific Parade car park.

There are some lovely viewing platform detours to be taken to gaze back over the waves to the city skyline of Broadbeach and Surfers paradise.

On the foreshore, right beside Tugun Surf Lifesaving Club, at the Wyberba Street Reserve, there’s a fabulously fun children’s playground which kids love to stop at to play a while.

If your keen on celebrity-house spotting, see if you can find former surfing champion (shark attack survivor and brewer) Mick Fanning’s beautiful white three-story beach-style Bilinga “shack” looking straight out on the swell.
