Hotel Indigo
Brisbane
Hotel Indigo is a beautiful boutique hotel launched by the InterContinental Hotels Group, located by the river at North Quay, in Brisbane's eclectic city centre.
This creatively curated retreat encourages guests to be fascinated by the hotel's myriad of art and design features, and offers guests the opportunity to delve deep into the charming neighbourhood to reveal clues of Brisbane stories untold.
To celebrate the opening of Hotel Indigo, guests are invited to enjoy overnight accommodation in a contemporary room or suite, with breakfast for two, and $100 credit per day for food and drink at 1603, with prices starting from $470*.
Celebrating the unique characteristics and untold tales of Brisbane, this unique hotel brings the stories of its local neighbourhood to life through hand-painted artworks, sculptures and suspended overhead installations, by Queensland's renowned artists Blends, Bronte Naylor and Furzeillear.
Guests are greeted at the hotel entrance, by two giant 6 metre high red doors that are inspired by the fairy doors on Burnett Lane, inviting the curious to uncover the hidden gems inside, like the graffiti covered Tuk Nook coffee cart in the lobby and two hand-painted murals by Furzeillear (Claire Matthews) in reception.
In a continuation of the story through art, the hotel reception displays illuminated numbers positioned over a historical map of Brisbane to pay homage to key legal cases that have occurred in Brisbane over the years.
Perhaps the hero piece of the hotel is a large-scale artwork by Blends that features a blue wren on an intriguing black portal positioned a staggering 16 stories high on the exterior facade. Designed to create a sense of intrigue and mystery, the wren is a nod to the award-winning book by Brisbane based author Trent Dalton, whose story Boy Swallows Universe, inspired Blends to create this larger than life artwork.
Each of the 212 strikingly designed guest rooms also pay homage to Brisbane’s unexpected treasures through a mix of carefully curated artworks and textures complementing the superior furnishings and full range of modern appliances.
Guests can also enjoy local beer, wine, and classic cocktails with a Whiskey and Sake twist at Bar 1603, a contemporary speak-easy inspired bar found on level one, which also offers a menu serving small bites that celebrate fresh, Japanese Izakaya style of food that will become a firm favourite for anyone wanting to experience Brisbane’s newest venue.
