Kirra favourite Bread ‘n’ Butter reopened on Kirra’s beach front strip at 76 Musgrave Street in late 2018 with a fresh new industrial look and swanky Spanish-Italian menu. The former late night cocktail bar may have retained its name however it has certainly matured into a stylish restaurant and lounge bar offering tapas, pasta, gnocchi and pizza.
The new Bread and Butter is edgy and atmospheric with ample alfresco seating curbside looking out over the park and beach opposite. Protected by a large black awning and a glass screen, this is a lovely spot to dine, by day or night.
Inside you’ll find a sophisticated and swanky space with plush seating alongside the marble topped bar. The gorgeous wall-sized mural of the traditional red ruffled Flamenco bailaora looks lifted from a 1930’s Andalusian Cantante. The bailaora’s pose exudes passion which adds a richness to the restaurant and lounge bar’s dark ambience.
Brought to you by the folks behind The Italian Job at the Collective in Palm Beach, Bread and Butter specialises in serving exceptional European cuisine, serving stone-baked pizzas and Spanish tapas, and producing handmade pasta and gnocchi daily. Make sure you bring your appetite and choose from share plates including the delectable truffle and mushroom arancini, calamari a la romana and croquetas de gambas (garlic prawn Bechamel bites with aioli).
It’s nigh impossible to choose between pasta favourites like bolognese della nonna, pappardelle primavera and truffle pappardell, or Gnocchi delights like Sorrentina, truffle and mushroom or the lamb–orghini. Whatever your choice, you can’t go wrong. There is a huge selection of stone-baked pizzas and salads, a clever kids’ menu, gluten-free and vegan offerings, not to mention the delectable desserts. Complementing your meal, you'll find exceptional Spanish, Italian and Argentinian wines on offer, alongside outstanding local drops from South Australia's Barossa Valley, Western Australia's Margaret River and New Zealand's Marlborough region.
If you're just simply meeting friends for a happy hour beverage or a Sunday session, behind the beautiful bar you’ll find an extensive list of classic cocktails and spirits as well as an enticing selection of on-tap and bottled beers including Peroni (of course) to choose from.
