Cardamom Pod is a cool contemporary plant-based cafe nestled in the Brickworks Ferry Rd precinct at Southport.
Popular with locals and visitors alike, Cardamom Pod is known for its delicious vegetarian dishes, served in a funky light-filled Scandi-chic setting.
The menu is packed with healthy goodness, with a selection of sweet and savoury dishes (many of them gluten free) such as Life is Berry Peach Pancake (peach pancake with peach mousse, grilled fresh peaches, strawberry ice cream, coconut soil, raspberry creme anglaise, white choci bark& whipped cream) or Gourmet Toastie (Sourdough, pesto, bocconcini, grilled zucchini, semi dried tomato and fired red capsicum paste, baked sweet potato, cheddar with crispy roasted chat potatoes & truffle aioli)
Recommended is the Mumbai Wrap (homemade beetroot roti wrap with aloo tikki, lettuce, avo, tomato chutney, green goddess sauce, broccoli sprouts, beetroot sauce and potato pakoras) and the French Toast (chia crusted French toast with blood orange marmalade, passion fruit & white chocolate pannacotta, pear sorbet, passion fruit sauce, dehydrated pear & caramelised coconut).
A visual and taste sensation is the Pod Special Acai (acai blended w banana, blueberries, coconut water topped with mango mousse, housemade granola, fresh fruits, protein ball, blue spirulina creme) and for something truly decadent, there's the Snicker Acai Bowl (acai blended with peanut butter, cacao powder& almond mylk, homemade granola caramel sauce topped with raw snickers bar).
Drinks are every bit as good, with choices like apple pie or turmeric latte; iced matcha, mocha or chai; house made sodas and cold pressed juices as well as organic coffee and losse leaf teas.
