Cambus Wallace
Mermaid Beach
The Cambus Wallace is a nautically themed rum and whisky bar located where Great Hall Drive meets the Gold Coast Highway in Mermaid Beach.
Known as a cool after-dark joint for cocktails and upscale tapas, The Cambus Wallace is named after the famous 1887 Gold Coast shipwreck which ran aground with a cargo of whiskey and rum. Pull up a bar stool or bench seat and soak up the nautical vibe as you’re watched over by the bar’s pirate skeleton.

This moodily lit, galley-style bar boasts a very impressive rum selection with each wall nook celebrating a collection by origin or style. There are nooks for whites, golds/pales, darks, navy rum, aged rums, vintage rums, overproof rums and spiced rums.

Cambus Wallace also celebrates its collection of Whiskies on Whiskey Wednesdays. Try a tipple, be it Irish, Scotch Tennessee, Rye or blended whiskey, you’ll find a taste for you.

Beyond the whiskey and rum, Cambus offers Stone and Wood Pacific Ale and Young Henry’s natural lager on tap, as well as an additional rotating tap beer. There is also an extensive list of ciders, wines, house spirits or cocktails.

The many tipples to choose from are wonderfully complemented with a rotating roster of tasty tapas (like chorizo, calamari, sliders, ragout, and crumbed arancini balls) and larger plates (like yellow tofu coconut curry, grilled NZ Salmon fillet and the slow-braised lamb shank). And you simply have to end with the warm sticky date pudding or the rich dark chocolate truffles!

The Cambus Wallace also offers dinner specials for hungry crew, a daily happy hour and live local musos and DJs most nights. Come hang with the crew in the galley and soak up the nautical vibe.
