Mohr Cafe & Deli combines a cool beachy neigbourhood vibe with a delicious chef-led menu in the back streets of Burleigh Heads.

By a savvy hospo couple who spent years touring the globe as chefs on luxury superyachts, Mohr is the kind of place that you find yourself returning to time and again for both the food and the warm welcome.

Diners can soak up the sunshine outside under the umbrellas or inside the chic minimalist space which also features a deli counter and fridge stacked with daily precooked meals to take home.

On the delectable breakfast menu are dishes like Shakshuka Scramble (charred eggplant, peppers, tomato chilli salsa & charred bread); Croque Monsieur (ham & gruyere croque, fried egs, cheese sauce, green pea chef salad & parmesan); and Mohr Rosti (poached eggs, Indian-inspired rosti, cashew cream, sweet potato relish, dill & watercress salad) and Turkish eggs (poached eggs, coconut labne, smoked tomato, cucumber, carrot pickle & charred bread).

There's also Breaky rolls (marinated tofu, bacon & egg or pork & Jalapeno sausage with fried egg); and a selection of signature Mohr Toasts (think lobster & aioli, smoked brisket & coconut labne, turmeric & tamarind cured salmon or tomato, pesto & stracciatella).

Lunch and small plates are mostly designed to share, starting with smalls such as Mediterranean meatballs & provolone cheese, croquettes and patatas bravas, red sauce and aioli. There's also pizza bread with a choice of toppings, paratha taco (sauteed mushroom & tahini, za'atar chicken or currie lobster and cashews), Mohr burgers (buffalo chicken ranch or beef smash), meze plate or charcuterie board for 2.

There's also a daily selection of premise-baked sweet treats and, from the deli counter, sliced meat, antipasto & cheese as well as daily salads, loaded focaccia and grab & go cups to takeaway. Meanwhile in the fridge there's chef-prepared meals, and frozen goods to take home too.

From the drinks menu, as well as coffee, there's cold brews including choc coconut, certified organic matcha, sticky chai, fresh juice (beetroot, green or orange carrot) and Sober Coolers (mango passion, raspberry hibiscus, cucumber margarita and pina colada).
