Cafe Kirra
Kirra
Café Kirra is a popular beachfront breakfast, brunch and lunch hangout located on Kirra’s beach front strip at 48 Musgrave Streeton the corner of the Kirra Village Shopping Mall.
Formerly known as GGs and big sister café to Vanilla Lily in Coolangatta, Café Kirra is owned by Dean and Lisa Saul, who are busy bringing quality coffee and classic bites to the Southern Gold Coast crowds.
This firm favourite amongst locals offers curbside communal “coffee bar” style seating as well as some individual umbrella shaded tables and a huge covered alfresco area outside. Inside, underneath Bill Wallace’s signed 1963 vintage feature surfboard, you’ll find some comfy couches and more tables settings alongside rustic produce displays and the community noticeboard and book-swapping bench. Folks grabbing a morning coffee and quick bite tend to share the outdoor communal bar seats, which is also a perfect place for dog-loving diners to bring their furry friends.
Café Kirra is incredibly popular for its stand-out Exotic espresso roast coffee from the Byron Bay Coffee Company, which is known for its deep smooth body, chocolate and mandarin spice flavours and intense lingering notes. For those on the run with their coffee, there is a selection of sweet and fluffy fresh cabinet treats including croissants, bagels, breaky bars, cakes, muffins and slices. The takeaway special of a medium coffee and bacon and egg roll is a favourite.
Café Kirra also offers delicious breakfast dishes from 7am and the tasty brunch lunch dishes become available from 11:30am. Breakfast favourites include the corn, zucchini and fetta fritters (stacked with bacon, avocado, cherry tomatoes, sour cream and mixed leaves) and the Kirra avo smash (served on sourdough toast with cherry tomatoes, poached eggs, homemade dukkha, mint and lemon). Of course, the menu has you covered for all the breaky staples from granola and Acai bowls to pancakes and eggs bene. Lunch fare includes burgers and open grills, salads and sides as well as fun gluten-free options and specials like Spaghetti Bolognese with garlic pistachio Turkish toast.
Complementing your meal, the café offers six fresh juices combinations as well as five plant-based protein smoothies and three icecream-based smoothies. For something different and extremely healthy, try the Veggie blast juice (with beetroot, carrot, celery, apple and ginger) or the Green Guru smoothie (with banana, avocado, spinach, mint and coconut water). You can also get Kombucha, tea, iced drinks and milkshakes.
