Pancake Diner brings a touch of Happy Days to Burleigh Heads - a 1950's retro American diner found in a shopping centre on the edge of a busy thoroughfare.
The family-friendly restaurant is decked out with red and white leather booths and 1950's beach scenes, with Elvis and other rock'n'roll icons on the video screen.
House signature is the pancakes, which come in stacks of various sized with toppings such as butter grilled banana, hot Bavarian apple, fresh strawberries, sticky date, Black Forest or lemon and sugar. All pancakes are available as crepes and there's also a small selection of Belgian waffles and savoury crepes.
The American-style burgers are another popular choice, ranging from classic hamburger or cheeseburger to pulled pork, veggie, steak or chicken schnitzel burger, along with hot dogs (plain, cheese, chilli or American). Meanwhile Mains include Nachos Aztec, Potato Pancake, Chicken Parmigiana and USA Style pork ribs.
Snacks and lighter meals include fried chicken wings, Caesar or warm salad sandwich and classic chicken club sandwich and there's also a breakfast menu with options like bacon & egg burger, Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, Canadaian or Vegetarian Breakfast.
From the drinks menu there's standard or deluxe (with malt & whipped cream) milkshakes in a variety of flavours; spiders; iced coffee, chocolate or tea; juices; soft drinks; and coffee, marshmallow cocoa, hot chocolate or tea. A selection of beer (bottled and on tap), wine, bubbles and classic cocktails are also available.
Good to know - There is a decent kids menu (12 years and under) with plenty of choices.
