Paradox Coffee Roasters

Surfers Paradise

Paradox Coffee Roasters’ flagship café is perfectly positioned just off the Gold Coast Highway at 10 Beach Rd, in the former Surfers Paradise Transit Centre.

The centre has been transformed into ‘The 4217’, aptly named after the postcode in which it resides, and now home to an urban micro-village that houses artisan curators and creative folk.

Reflecting the funky vibe of the warehouse complex, Paradox is a unique space with an industrial-exposed-brick finish with high ceilings above a huge contemporary wall mural (by local artist Vans the Omega) and is designed to showcase the coffee making process.  The team take pride in sourcing only the highest quality coffees from around the world, roasting onsite daily onsite care-of their impressive Brambati roaster, sourced from Northern Italy.

Sit and savour the aromas and the experience as you watch some of the finest baristas in the business serve the smoothest coffee on the coast.  You can take a front row seat at the café’s u-shaped bar to watch skilled baristas behind the espresso machine or sink into a more intimate blue cushioned booth subtly lit under the huge neon “P” (which clearly stands for perfection).  There are more secluded tables beyond the bar, or you can take your brew outside to the curb-side deck seating area perfect for people-watching.

Now let’s talk about the coffee!  Paradox’s flagship gives guests the opportunity to buy fresh-roasted, sustainable-sourced coffee, offering customers all four Paradox blends – Paper Moon, Penny Lane, Purple Rain Organic and Picasso Baby – alongside that month’s single origin line-up.  The establishment’s signature house blend brings together specialty-grade Nicaraguan, Colombian and Ethiopian coffees roasted fresh in-house by the master roaster.

Whether you love espresso, filter or cold brew coffee, Paradox has it – more experimental folks must try the nitro coffee with the Guinness-like head, the Paradox Cold Brew (brewed and bottled onsite) or creations like their Nuttellalatte and iced salted Caramellatte.  For those that prefer alterative brews to beans, they also serve a wide range of tea c/o the Byron Bay Tea Company, alongside cold pressed juices and classic smoothies.  The café is also licenced to serve a mean Espresso Martina, as well as Corona, Stone and Wood, Chandon and selected wines.

For those with an appetite beyond the brew, Paradox strives to let the locally-sourced produce shine, serving food in-keeping with their philosophy – simple, quality and hand-crafted.  The meals are hearty and unpretentious from a seasonal menu offering a range of meals to suit any appetite or dietary requirement.  Enjoy all-day brunch favourites including the Paradox Avo, the Buddha bowl, the Eggs Benny Bagel, Eggs My Way, French Toasted Croissants or the big Hangover Breaky. Later diners enjoy the Paradox BLAT, steak sandwich or Pumpkin Halloumi Burger.  There is also a full deli cabinet for fresh treats and snacks.
