Rumi Persian Restaurant is where ancient tradition meets modern Middle Eastern glamour in the line-up of restaurants and eateries on Broadbeach's Surf Parade dining precinct.
The striking black-hued main dining area with its golden lamps and chandeliers and stunning backlit bar is the main attraction, luring passers-by, whilst the breezy covered terrace, great for people-watching, is also dog-friendly.
Offering warm Iranian-style hospitality, a mix of traditional and fusion Persian dishes which come served in generous portions, and luscious insta-worthy cocktails, Rumi is a dining destination for any occasion.
The menu has something for everyone, from popular classic dishes to the chef's delicious fusion dishes, starting with house-baked Persian garlic bread; saffron chicken wings; Shirazi salad; dip platter; and smoky grilled eggplant (eggplant with fried onion, walnut, mint & whey) served with Persian bread.
Mains include filet mignon with Rumi's special mash and salad; slow-cooked beef ribs with chips and coleslaw; griled barramundi with dill rice, pickled garlic and Rumi's special sauce; or fire-grilled lamb cutlets with grilled tomato, chilli pepper and Rumi's special dip.
Special chef dishes include pomegranate, walnut & chicken stew; Persian chicken with saffron rice, barberries & special tomato sauce; vegetarian tagine (Persian style stew with chickpeas, potatoes, seasonal vegetables and saffron rice); and slow-cooked lamb shank with pastry top, served with pickled garlic and dill rice.
For those with an appetite, try the King's Meal (minced meat and lamb chunk kebabs with grilled tomato, chilli peppers, Rumi's special dip and a choice of two sides (bread, chips, salad and rice). Otherwise there's the ultimate share platter for two, with saffron chicken, premium minced meat and lamb kebabs with grilled tomato, chilli peppers, Rumi's special dip, saffron rice, side salad and bread.
For dessert there's a choice of baklava, tiramisu, saffrom ice cream or traditional Middle Eastern dessert Knafeh (shredded filo dough crust with sweet cheese filling, topped with rose water flavoured syrup and pistachios). To accompany there's a selection of bespoke fruity cocktails with a Middle Eastern twist, a mix of international and Australian wines and craft or international beers.
