Tamborine Forest Skywalk

Tamborine Mountain

Updated: Jan 20, 2026

Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk is Tamborine Mountain’s hidden gem - a rare and unique opportunity to stroll amongst the treetops with a stunning bird’s eye view of Cedar Creek falls and the surrounding rainforest canopy.

The skywalk, which takes approx. 1 hour, departs the Rainforest Eco Gallery café in spectacular style via an elevated metal walkway which winds its way through 300m* of middle and upper canopy of giant trees such as Strangler Figs, Tallowwood, Tamarind, White Booyong, Piccabeen, Walking Stick and Rattan palms.

From there, the path leads gradually down to the rainforest floor, passing on the way a giant felled red cedar, a remnant of the early settlement days of the late 19th century when the forest was full of prized red cedar.

The halfway point is marked by a lookout over Cedar Creek, which is home to the saw-shelled freshwater turtle, long-finned eel, rainbow fish, shrimps, crayfish and the 12cm span fishing spider.

From here, it’s an easy climb to the pièce de résistance of the walk – the breathtaking cantilever walkway of 40m that juts out 30m above the valley, canopies and Cedar Creek Falls (note this part, which is prone to movement by pedestrians, is not recommended for people who experience vertigo or who are faint-hearted).

The path returns to base via the Butterfly’s Lookout (habitat of the rare Richmond birdwing butterfly and site of the TRS instigated breeding program).

Need to know - For time-poor visitors, this offers a unique and great all-round nature snapshot of the best that Tamborine Mountain has to offer. Despite its cost, the cantilever alone makes it worthwhile.

*This section is the only part that is fully wheelchair accessible and as such can be purchased as its own ticket.
