This boutique mountaintop Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation, the only one in south-east Queensland, is a must visit for coffee connoisseurs.
Nestled within beautiful acreage, there is an onsite cafe, which makes a perfect stopover for day trippers or visitors staying on Tamborine Mountain.
Not only is this the place to get freshly-picked and roasted coffee beans (to drink or take home), but you can take tours of the plantation on Saturdays. At the completion of the tour, guests take part in 'winery-style' tastings of coffee from all around the world, with of the coffees offering their own unique flavours and taste profiles.
The beautiful garden restaurant is an attraction in its own right, with over half an acre of lawn and alfresco terrace seating, perfect for soaking up the sunshine and fresh mountain air. Here you can indulge in a delicious seasonal brunch menu, accompanied by their award-winning coffee, or a curated selection of cold drinks.
The creative all-day brunch menu is a showcase for local producers, with all dietary requirements well catered for. Dishes include the likes of rhubarb & raspberry crumpets; Baja Benny (Eggs Benny with pulled pork); hash brown soldiers; and brunch gyoza or brunch curry.
Aside from the house-roasted and brewed coffee, the drinks menu includes iced matcha, green purple or yellow smoothies, cookies'n'cream thickshake, tiramisu iced latte and espresso tonic. You can also try a coffee discovery flight on Saturdays from their brew bar.
Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation should be on your top list of things to do on a day trip to the mountain, the perfect accompaniment to a lush rainforest walk or a stroll amongst the canopy via the Tamborine Forest Skywalk. Or pay a visit to the Gallery Walk with its art galleries and quirky shops, including the famous Cuckoo Clock Nest.
