Miami Marketta is an unfussy sprawling night market offering global street fare, cocktails and beers plus talented live music acts tucked a block behind the Gold Coast Highway on Hillcrest Parade, Miami.
The creative precinct and live music venue that is Miami Marketta is the heart of Miami’s cultural shift from sleepy beach burb to creative hub. The folks behind the revolution have drawn inspiration from the food markets found in the back streets of places like Thailand, Barcelona and New York City, bringing “marketta” to the heart of the Gold Coast, just minutes from busy Broadbeach.
Drawing its name from the Spanish word for market, the Gold Coast’s original street food Marketta comes alive three times a week – Wednesday, Friday and Saturday – serving foods from all round the world, supplying boutique local beer and wine, and undercover seating for over 500 people. This huge venue is essentially a private laneway that can cater for large groups of diners, thanks to the sprawling communal tables throughout the precinct.
Marketta also offers four onsite bars – the Cargo Bar and Marketta Cafe serve boutique wine and locally brewed beer, while the Wine and Cocktail bars serve up Marketta’s specialty cocktails.
Marketta is one of the Gold Coast’s premier live music venues for national and international touring acts. The main stage hosts blues, jazz, flamenco, roots and independent artists any Friday or Saturday night of the month. The venue also hosts a range of regular events including street food festivals, vintage suitcase rummages, private events, paint and sip activities and the fabulous Drag Queen Bingo.
Marketta is a family-orientated under-cover but open-air dining experience with over 25 food vendors of international cuisine, where you are encouraged to perhaps choose an entrée from Asia, a main from the Mid-East and a dessert from Europe.
