Luna's Deli is like a bright yellow ray of sunshine on Coolangatta's Marine Pde - an artisan bakery, gourmet sandwich and gelato shop all in one.
Customers can take a seat on the al fresco terrace out front or inside the cheerful sunny interior, where a yellow leather banquette runs along one wall.
A tempting selection of handcrafted pastries are available daily from the counter, each of them made over a meticulous 3-day process, using rich French butter and sustainable sourced flour.
For something more substantial, their breakfast menu, served until midday. offers La Tartine - artisan sourdough with French butter and seasonal house-made jam (or cream cheese & dulce de leche); Avocado Toast (citrus crushed avo, whipped goats cheese, cherry tomatoes, roasted almonds & sprouts) with the option to add a free-range poached egg; and The Deli Breaky (freshly baked croissant layered with tomato relish, Bangalow bacon, baby spinach and poached egg).
Signature toasties (available all day) include Croque Monsieur (Bangalow ham, gruyère cheese, Dijon mustard & bechamel); Trufffle Shroomie (sauteed mushrooms, spring onion, cashew cream & truffle); and The Local Reuben (Bangalow pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, pickles and homemade Russian dressing;.or Leek Cacio E Pepe (creamy leek fondue, pecorino Romano & freshly cracked black pepper).
Their focaccia sandwiches (served all day on weekends) are also a must-try, with fillings such as Mortadella (mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio cream, rocket & pistachio); Pumpkin & Hazelnut (sweet roasted pumpkin, whipped goat's curd, toasted hazelnuts, roquette and touch of fresh mint) and traditional Italian-style porchetta (slow roasted pork with herbs, served with roquette, crunchy fennel & citrus sauce).
For drinks there's a choice of Luna's Deli's own blend of coffee, brewed from premium Brazilian and Colombian beans; Parisian hot chocolate, chai latte or organic teas. The selection of cold drinks includes Iced latte, mocha or chocolate (made with 64% Peruvian chocolate); peach iced tea; cold pressed juices and house-made lemonade as well as smoothies and thick shakes (made with the house gelato).
Meanwhile the gelato, which is also handcrafted using the highest quality ingredients, comes in a variety of daily flavours - check at the counter what's available.
