Lil-Ego Cafe

Lil Ego is a hidden treasure of a stunning foodie's cafe hidden away in the industrial back streets of Ormeau on the northern Gold Coast.

Occupying a converted warehouse, the welcoming family-run cafe is a vision of industrial chic, adorned with plants and with a myriad of seating in cosy dining nooks.

The menu is a delight, featuring breakfast dishes such as Custard Waffles (with maple bacon, banana, cinnamon anglaise, pistachio crumble and vanilla bean ice cream); Spicy Sunshine (fluffy chilli infused scrambled eggs, served with greens on either a buttery toasted crossiant or sourdough, with a choice of either bacon, halloumi or mushroom); and Sunshine Corn Fritters, served with a fresh rocket salad, smashed avocado, TCG Jam (tomato, chilli, ginger) and whipped fetta.

Lunch dishes include Wakame Wonder Salad (choice of tofu, chicken, steak, or salmon, topped with wakame seaweed, sesame sprinkle, edamame beans & peanut dressing); Grilled Steak Stack (marinated steak with sliced tomato, beetroot, cheese, and runny fried egg, drizzled with BBQ sauce & aioli, on Turkish bread); and Cluck'n'Good (garlic marinated chicken breast, lettuce, pickled red onion, fresh tomato, chipotle mayo, served on a milk bun).

The drinks menu includes Merlo coffee, hot chocolate, chai and honey chai; a selection of teas; frappes and milkshakes; smoothies (Banana Velvet, Energizer Green, Acai Glow and Mango Breeze); iced coffee, mocha, honey chai and peach tea; along with kombucha, Noah's juices and kids pop tops. 

There's also an excellent kids menu, including mini avo bite, ham & cheese toastie, mini chicken or beef burgers and mini waffles.

Good to know - Lil Ego has a kiosk located 900m up the hill, serving takeaway coffee and snacks.

Need to know - Food is to be ordered at the counter. There is onstreet parking available nearby.
