2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships

The world’s best BMX racers are coming to Brisbane this July for the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships. 

More than 3,500 riders from over 40 countries are expected to take on the future Olympic venue at the Brisbane SX International BMX Centre from 17th – 25th July. 

Across 9 days of action, spectators can witness elite racing featuring Olympic medallists and world champions alongside thousands of Challenge riders. Reigning Olympic champion Saya Sakakibara is gunning for her first World Championship, alongside fellow Aussie racers Jesse Asmus, Teya Rufus, and Izaac Kennedy.

New to BMX Racing? The World Championships are designed to be just as exciting for first-time spectators as they are for lifelong fans. We’ve put together a newcomer’s guide to help fans get the most out of their visit, explaining everything from race formats and scoring to impressive start hills, jumps, and bikes that make BMX Racing one of the most thrilling sports to watch. 

The Championships offer more than just racing. Grab a Championship pass and kick things off at Meet Your Heroes day on Friday, 17th July, featuring meet-and-greets, athlete signings, Q&A sessions and more. 

Then, bring the whole family along to Family Day on Saturday, July 18th. This day offers free activities, entertainment, food trucks, giveaways, and a scavenger hunt! On Sunday, 19th July, take your seat trackside as the world’s fastest BMX riders battle for UCI World Championship glory on the Brisbane track.

The UCI BMX Racing World Championships offer all the thrills and excitement needed for the perfect family day out. Tickets are available single days or the entire event, with children 4 and under receiving free entry. Championship Passes allow access to all 3 days of the most elite racing, so you can watch the world’s best riders battle for rainbow jerseys every day!
