Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre
Burleigh Heads
The Gold Coast’s only dedicated Aboriginal cultural centre, Jellurgal is located just off the Gold Coast Highway, right next to picturesque Tallebudgera Creek.
Fully owned and operated by the local Aboriginal community, the Centre is a fascinating place to visit and learn about the ancient history and culture of the region's first inhabitants and their magical mountain Jellurgal (Burleigh National Park).

From the Centre, you can take a journey of discovery with a guided Jellurgal Walkabout Tour, which starts with an audio visual presentation, before leading you through the beautiful beachside rainforest of Dreaming Mountain (Jellurgal). Here you'll see culturally significant sites, meet a traditional land owner and hear stories of the dreamtime.

Along the way you'll also learn about traditional life pre-contact, bush tucker, fishing and hunting, as well as the important ecological practices and connection to the land by the original inhabitants.

Need to know - The tour takes approximately 2 hours and is suitable for children. Parking is available outside the centre and a bus stop is located there as well.
