Anchorage Boardwalk is a secret state-of-the-art boardwalk with gorgeous views across Terranora Creek, leading from the edge of Keith Curran Park to The Anchorage estate at Tweed Heads.
The entry to the 245m boardwalk is next to the small car park at the end if Island Drive and here there's a picnic table ideal for a pre-or-post walk bite to eat.
From here the path leads through a small copse of trees before connecting to the boardwalk, which has views across to the hills of houses and waterfront businesses (including Dayo Cafe) on the other side.
The leisurely 10 minute stroll takes you along the edge of and through the mangroves until you reach the a small grassy park at the edge of The Anchorage estate.
Here there's a bench where you can sit and enjoy the views across the river and chck out the boast moored at The Anchorage before returning along the boardwalk.
Good to know - This walk is best done at high tide. Well behaved on leash dogs are welcome to join their owners on the walk.
Need to know - There is also a grassy swimming spot back near the car park where you can cool off.
