Sobah Brewery & Cafe
Burleigh Heads
Sobah Brewery & Cafe is Australia's first non-alcoholic beer company, proudly Aboriginal owned and tucked away in Burleigh Heads in Komburri Country (Gold Coast).
Founded by Gamilaroi man and psychologist, Dr Clinton Schultz, the purpose behind Sobah Brewery & Cafe is to offer a better choice for those who are not drinking for whatever reason at whatever time, whilst operating under the philosophies of Gamilaraay Lore ‘dhiriya Gamil’ which include acting from a position of respecting people, place and the environment.
Sobah's premium beers may be non-alcoholic but they pack a punch when it comes to flavour as they are infused with Australian native fruit and spices, with their core range including Lemon Aspen Pilsner, Finger Lime Cerveza, Pepperberry IPA and Davidson Plum GF Ale (gluten-free).
Ae well as the range of premise-brewed beers, there are non-alcoholic wines and cocktails, while the onsite cafe serves up a delectable choice of inspired dishes, drawing on native ingredients to provide unique flavours.
On the menu is all-day breakfast, including green breaky bowl, egg bread with brioche, smashed avo and feta, mushroom medley or bacon and egg rolls, with juices, smoothies, coffee and tea.
There's also a selection of delicious burgers with fillings including kangaroo, crocodile, pulled wild boar or mushroom medly and mains such as black wattle smoked kangaroo, pan-seared barramundi; Davidson Plum croc ribs and lemon myrtle crusted eggplant, with sides such as saltbush damper.
Good to know - Upstairs is an art gallery of indigenous art that is well worth checking out.
Need to know - There's a small kids menu. Plentiful free parking is available onsite.
